Timmy was staring at his old family photo, with the Turners. He closed his eyes tightly and ripped the photo, tearing apart the part that featured the Turners and crumpled it. He sighed, as he looked at the crumpled part of the picture and threw it in the trash can. He was done giving the Turners second chances when they never truly changed their ways and it would only end up with him feeling more hurt.
He hopped off his bed where his family were already there, putting the last finishing touches on breakfast. “Oh good, you're awake, we were just about to call you.” Wanda says to him as soon as she spots him.
“Mom… Dad…”
Cosmo and Wanda took a glance at each other, knowing it was serious. They both flew in front of Timmy, giving him their full attention. “What is it, Timmy?” Cosmo asked.
“I… I would like for you to fully adopt me, I want to become your family forever.” he announced
Cosmo and Wanda took another glance at each other, this is what they always wanted and they were both ecstatic but kept themselves contained.
“Are you sure, Timmy? It means eventually leaving your old friends and family behind… I wouldn't want you to regret your decision.” Cosmo asked carefully.
“It's going to suck having to leave behind AJ and Chester but it's not like we hang out much anymore anyway… And between continuing our friendship versus being family with you forever… It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.” Timmy said, very sure of his decision.
“What about your parents?”
Timmy scoffed “It's not like they notice me at all and just the other week, they left me for dead. I'm done with them. Who needs them when I have you?”
“Well… If you are sure…” Cosmo said, still unsure, he did want Timmy as his forever son, but he didn't want Timmy to regret his decision and resent them.
“I'm sure. I'm tired of not being seen, bullied and left by myself… I want this… I really want this.” Wanda and Cosmo nodded
“Well if you're sure…” Wanda says, excitement tingling her voice, she poofed up a banner that read Welcome to the Fairywinkle Cosma Family, Timmy!
Poof who didn't know what was happening saw the banner and clapped excitedly, poofing to Timmy “Poof Poof?”
“Yeah! I'm officially going to be your big brother.” Timmy confirmed
“Poof Poof!” Poof exclaimed, clapping his hands happily.
Wanda was excitedly poofing around their castle, grabbing a variety of things “Ohthisissoexciting,nowthatyou'vedecidedforustoadoptyou,therearequiteafewthingsweneedtodo” she says in a flurry.
“What does Fairy Adoption consist of?” he asks, having no idea what's going to happen now that he agreed.
“Oh, we'll have to go to the hospital in Fairy World and you'll get a bit of our blood injected into your system, then we'll do a magical ritual, it'll make you immortal and a fairy hybrid,” Cosmo explained.
“Will I get wings?”
“You'll have to wait a while for wings if you want them, it's quite a painful procedure and we don't feel comfortable with letting you do such a surgery until you're an adult.”
“When will that be?”
“one thousand years,” Cosmo says while nodding his head.
Timmy's eyes widened “That's a long time!”
“Fairies age much slower than humans. Also you'll shrink in size a little, since your body will change from human adolescent to fairy adolescent. You still want to go through with this?”
“Uh yes! It's everything I ever dreamed about!” Timmy said excited, sure he was a little sad about leaving his old life behind but he didn't really have much to leave behind.
“Ready!” Wanda says, having set up the necessary appointments and grabbed the required stuff and poofed the four of them to the hospital where Mama Cosma was waiting.
“Oh if it isn't my grandchild and soon to be eldest grandchild!” Mama Cosma cooed, pinching both of Timmy's and Poof's cheeks.”
“Mama Cosma, what are you doing here?”
‘I'm here to watch after Poof while you, my darling Cosmo and Wanda” she said the name with disgust, picking Poof up and playing with him as she floated them both to the play area.
“You explained everything to him right?” Wanda asks Cosmo, double checking.
“Yup!” Cosmo affirms, giving a thumbs up.
“Don't worry, Timmy, it's only two little pinches, you can even be put to sleep if need be.” Wanda assured resting a hand on Timmy's shoulder.
“Wait... I've been a fairy before, why is all this necessary?” Timmy asks, remembering the previous times.
“Oh that's because it was a temporary transformation and we were using our magic to keep you as a fairy.” she explained “With this, it's permanent, you'll be half fairy unless you choose to go through the full fairy transformation as an adult.” Wanda explained.
Dr. RIP Studwell came out into the foyer “Hi… I heard there was a family wanting a fairy ritual?” he checks his clipboard “Ah of course it's you” he says as he spots the Cosmas “Well I have good news and great news, the good news is that this procedure is harmless, the great news is that doing this procedure will make me even more popular! Follow me please!” He gestures for them to follow as he leads them to the back.
He sits Wanda, Timmy and Cosmo down, getting the needles ready, and carefully slides the needles into their arms, taking out some of their blood. Once he's taken enough of their blood, he removes the needles and slides another needle into Timmy's, injecting the blood into his body. “You might feel a little fuzzy after.” he warns.
Timmy nodded, once the blood was in him, they waved goodbye to RIP Studwell and met with Mama Cosma and Poof, poofing them all to the next destination. The area featured a pentagram printed onto the ground and Wanda started placing a variety of things on the ground.
“This is where fairies used to do special rituals long long ago, from cross species adoption, to recharging our magic.” Mama Cosma explained and Timmy nodded along.
Soon it was ready and Timmy stood in the middle with Wanda and Cosmo standing at the edge of the circle, Cosmo and Wanda slit both of their palms letting the blood seep onto the circle, it started to glow as the pentagram came to life. Some sort of flash happened and Timmy had shrunk to that of a fairy adolescent “Is the ritual done now?” he asks.
Wanda and Cosmo both nod as they bandage their hands, Mama Cosma helping out Cosmo. “Congrats! You're part fairy!” Cosmo exclaimed and Timmy cheered.
Their next stop was Jorgen's office, Jorgen helped them with the paperwork needed and after everything was filed, he presented the family with an official framed adoption certificate.
They all teared up upon looking at it “This is one of the best days of our lives!” said both Wanda and Cosmo.
Once they were finally home again, Timmy was shocked to find all the fairies he had ever known, pop out and yell “HAPPY ADOPTION DAY TIMMY FAIRYWINKLE COSMA!”
“Oh wow! What's this all about?” he asks
“Well you're getting adopted and became part fairy, it's something to celebrate!” Cupid answered.
“Yeah! And we haven't had an adoption in over… Well it's been a very long time.” Jorgen added.
“Welcome to the family, kid.” Big Daddy says with a smirk “You can call me Big Nonno from now on.”
“And you can call me Grandma Cosma!” Mama Cosma added
“Sounds great! Big Nonno and Grandma Cosma!” replied Timmy
“Now let's get this party started!” yelled Cosmo as he started the music.
