Yesterday we announced I’ll be leaving Hewlett Packard Enterprise on May 1 for an exciting new opportunity in Australia, to be closer to my family. The connections I’ve made during my time at HPE are much like family bonds. I’ve always said, you often spend more time with your colleagues than with your own family, and the relationships you build at work become really important. Being the leader of Hybrid IT has been a career highlight for me. I am so proud of what we’ve accomplished. Most specifically I’m proud of the culture and employee engagement we built across the company. It’s a testament to the high caliber of our team members – as professionals and as human beings. I take with me many wonderful memories of great friends, good fun, hard work, and true success. For all of that and so much more I will be forever grateful to the HPE team.

It was great to have the opportunity to host CISOs from all over APAC last week at our CISO Summit in Sydney. As cyber threat actors continue to pose substantial risk for all organizations, board and leadership teams are under unprecedented scrutiny and tasked with preserving the security and resiliency of their company's most valuable assets. I wanted to share Google's recent Perspectives on Security for the Board Report where we explore best practices around pressing issues such as credential theft, the risks posed by quantum computing, and the ongoing challenges in supporting digital sovereignty. Actively engaging in these efforts can significantly reduce the risk of costly breaches that could severely impact your organization’s reputation, your customers, your financial stability, and even improve the overall security of the general public. While many raise concerns about the energy needed to power cloud and AI infrastructures, data centers may play a critical role in reducing our emissions. In New York, utility provider Con Edison is planning to capture wasted heat from data centers to power a nearby affordable housing complex.Burning fossil fuels for buildings is the state’s largest source of emissions. By capturing what was once wasted energy into a sustainable resource, it can help power our cities and drive meaningful environmental change.I'm hopeful that if this pilot is successful, we can further reduce our global carbon footprint by tapping into data centers around the world.https://lnkd.in/gmB_BAF7

Generative AI is no longer just for the enterprise. By ditching one-size-fits-all AI and embracing mid-sized models, SMBs can rapidly deploy the right LLM tailored to their business needs and implement use cases that offer immediate impact such as internal chatbots, operational automation, short-form copy generation, and more.At Google Cloud, we’ve seen how shifting from large-scale models to focused, midsize solutions like Gemini 1.5 Flash can optimize both performance and budget, delivering tailored and impactful results.https://lnkd.in/gRcZMmwz

I enjoyed speaking to Aaron Tan from ComputerWeekly about the momentum that the cloud is gaining in the APJ region, and AWS's commitment to enabling the growth of our customers and partners. It's still early days for the cloud, and we're excited to help more businesses realize opportunities for greater flexibility, agility, and innovation. #aws #innovation #cloud
