Congratulations Faith! You are the second College of Business student, during my 8 year tenure, to become a Disney cast member. Congratulations! I know how tough and competitive it is to get those positions.

It's not just about having good project coordination and stakeholder management skills, the key is to study & understand your product/project... no matter how technical / complicated it is. Own it. Shocked is the best way to describe most people when they learn how many trips I've taken to Walk Disney World in Orlando, Florida. I spend 30-45 days in Disney World, on average, each year and have a total of 41 vacations to the Most Magical Place on Earth behind me. My time there has ingrained in me a deep appreciate of the magic that can happen when a company devotes itself to building and implementing a strong brand identity. Through their setting, operational procedures, and cast members (Disney lingo for "employee"), Disney turns brand theory into practical magic. I'm taking my lessons and observations from the House of Mouse and turning them into a weekly segment, to share how any organization is capable of creating something special, if they take the time, care, and consideration to do so. I am not affiliated with Disney in any way, other than as a super fan and annual passholder. All of the information I've obtained through the years comes from my experiences at the resorts, research using public resources, or information generously shared by current and former cast members and Disney executives. Creating Magic shouldn't just be for Disney. Every organization is capable of building an exceptional brand. Myself and this new segment, are here to help. #WhatWouldDisneyDo #BrandingDoneRight #BrandSpecialist #PixieDust

An insightful and enjoyable listen. I was fascinated to learn the importance character, honesty and integrity at such a high level. It is deeply encouraging to know that such qualities are admired and sought after in successful positions. Knowledge and experience are easily gained but ones character is a constant discipline and endeavour. The appendix in the last chapter is a most useful reminder of great lessons and considerations. The Walt Disney Company has become something more than ever could have been imagined under the leadership of Robert Iger and his team.

I took my kids to Disney! The happiness place on Earth 🌎 Here’s what a trip to Disney can teach me about how to be a better team leader. Here’s what I found out:1. The Little Things are the Big ThingsJust like Mickey Mouse pays attention to every guest, a good leader notices even the small things that make a team happy.^^^ starts with self-awareness 👁️ 👁️ 2. The Journey is Part of WinningEver wait in line for a ride? In life, sometimes we have to wait calmly for the good stuff, like a great project to finish. ^^^ it’s who we become while we wait - resilient.3. Different is GoodDisney has lots of different characters, and they all work together to make a great day for everyone. A team with different kinds of people can do amazing things if they all work towards the same goal.^^^ a symphony of sameness wouldn’t sound that great.Going to Disney taught me that to make big dreams come true, you need fun, patience, and a team that brings all kinds of ideas to the table. That’s how we make magic in the real world too!•••What are you doing to have fun and make magic?#FunLeadership #TeamMagic #DisneyDay

Do you know the 4 guest expectations for Disney? They’re the same in your business! 1 - Make me feel special - Do you think your customers want to feel special? Pay attention to them, get to know them, take care of everything they need. 2 - Treat me as an individual when I do business with you - Get me what I want! Don’t tell me about your big policies where you can’t serve me. Treat me as an individual. Companies that learn to personalize and individualize service are going to WIN. 3 - Show respect to me and my Family when we come to Disney World - It is absolutely critical to respect every single person that you interact with on a personal and professional level. 4 - Make sure you have knowledgable employees working at Disney World - Develop your people! In today’s marketplace, everyone wants to do business and have experiences with companies who have trained, knowledgeable, and helpful employees.
